The Journey to Success

SPX started in Muskegon, Michigan in 1912 as an automotive components supplier.

Through a series of acquisition and divestitures, we’ve transformed into a diversified global manufacturer with solutions ranging from cooling systems for all types of power plants, entertainment venues and other facilities to specialized tools for constructing wind turbines, diagnosing automotive issues and more. Today, with locations in more than 35 countries, we employ approximately 17,000 people and manufacture and market more than 100 brands.

Our success is recognized in our strong performance and in the accolades we receive. In 2008, we were ranked #43 on the Barron's 500, a yearly report on how the 500 largest publicly traded companies perform in terms of operating results and investment returns.
